About Nordjysk Kølerfabrik A/S
Since 1958, we have produced engine cooling products and heat exchangers for Danish and international customers.
Our abilities
With our own production of copper/brass radiator cores, we specialize in producing customized solutions for all needs.
We supply and manufacture radiators, condensers, heat exchangers and more in copper/brass, aluminum and stainless/aluminum. In addition, we can help repair or re-core most radiators/heat exchangers.
Production
With in-house production of copper/brass cores, we can produce exactly the core or complete radiator the customer requires. We manufacture a wide variety of radiators in different sizes.
To produce a new core, we go through up to 10 different processes in our production, starting with the machining of the raw materials received from the metalworks. From strip material, both brass tubes and copper fins are manufactured. The tubes receive a coating that, during baking, helps seal them. There are several types of fins, some designed for high cooling efficiency, while others perform better in polluted environments.
The copper fins are inserted or stacked on specially designed tables, and the tubes are then placed or inserted one by one. Next, we punch and attach the brass plate that forms the connection between the water tanks and the radiator core. Once this is completed, the core is baked in an oven at approximately 400°C. Baking ensures optimal heat transfer between the tubes and fins while sealing the pipes. Finally, the manufacturing process concludes with a pressure test, after which the core is washed and dried.
In addition to traditional copper/brass radiators, we produce aluminum radiators and radiators/exchangers with a round tube system. The aluminum cooling system is highly versatile and can be used for coolant, oil, and air. It is also possible to customize the fins based on the level of pollution in the environment where the engine cooling products will operate.
The round tube system is more specialized and made from slightly thicker material than most comparable products. We manufacture this system using seawater-resistant aluminum for the air fins, with either copper or stainless steel tubes to transport water, steam, coolant, oil, gases (e.g., for air conditioning), and more.
Our history
The family business Nordjysk Kølerfabrik A/S was founded in 1958 and is now owned by the third generation. Its vision has always been, and remains, to produce and deliver high-quality cooling solutions at competitive prices with short delivery times. Initially, our focus was on the repair and production of engine coolers for passenger cars, agricultural machinery, and trucks. Since then, production has evolved continuously, and we now supply quality coolers for generator sets, construction machinery, train operations, marine applications, and more.
